Description
Oak Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 16th century or earlier. It has a timber frame, with parts that are weatherboarded and parts that are plastered. The cottage features a lean-to on the right side and a red plain tile roof that is half hipped to the left. It is one storey high with an attic and has one window in the main building and one in the lean-to, both of which are small paned casements. The structure consists of two bays with halved bracing, jowled storey posts, and stop-chamfered bridging joists. There are stairs located beside the original red brick chimney stack. The entrance has a plank and muntin door that is off centre, and there is an internal door from the 18th century.
