Description
Navigation Cottage is a pair of cottages that have been converted into a single dwelling, dating from the early 19th century. The building is timber-framed, covered with black weatherboarding, and features a pantiled gabled roof with a stack on the front roof slope, which is located on the former party wall.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range. The front elevation displays two 9-pane sash windows on each floor. The rear elevation has three similar windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, along with a door located in the east flank elevation.
Inside, each unit consists of a large front room and a shallower rear room. The structure showcases two bays of typical but good quality framing from the period, with diagonal wall bracing interrupting the studs.
