Description
Varley Cottage is a pair of attached cottages that have been converted into one dwelling, likely dating from the late 18th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends and stone rubble chimney stacks on the gable ends. It probably started as two one-room cottages with a pair of entrances in the center, which have since been modified to create a single cottage.
The structure is two storeys high and has a regular four-window front. The ground floor contains three 20th-century windows, with the second window located in a blocked doorway. There is an entrance with a 20th-century door, which has a slate hipped hood, positioned to the right of center. The first floor features four 20th-century windows. Additionally, there are lean-to extensions on both the right and left gable ends. The interior is not accessible for viewing.
