Description

This barn, located approximately 30 metres south of Shingleford, dates from the 18th to 19th century. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded, with a red brick plinth. The roof is clad in corrugated iron and has a central gabled midstrey. The structure consists of five bays, with a two-bay floored granary. The walls are supported by through bracing, and the roof is constructed with side purlins and hanging knees to the tie beams. The brick plinth has a scratched inscription that reads S.B., J.M., J.S.B., 1828 after each initial.
