Description
The entrance gates, located approximately 40 meters north of Great Ruffins in Great Totham, were designed in the early 20th century by A.H. Mackmurdo. They are made of wrought and cast iron and feature tall, square plastered brick outer columns that are topped with ball finials. Between these outer columns, heavy rails with stud heads rest on a plastered brick plinth that curves towards the support columns. The double gates include full-height outer scroll panels adorned with a central flower head, arrowhead base panels, and scroll panels above. The plain rails are topped with upper ornamentation, and the top rail is decorated with ornate scroll work that rises to the center.
