Description
This barn, located approximately 40 metres east of Great Downs Farmhouse, dates back to the early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, partly covered in weatherboarding, and features a roof made of handmade red clay peg tiles. The barn consists of six bays and has an off-centre gabled midstrey. It has a steeply pitched roof with gabled ends. The structure includes straight tiebeams, curved arch braces, raking struts, and collars, along with side purlins that have wind bracing. The main posts do not have jowls and are supported by side girths. There are later brick outshots added to the barn.
