Description

This is an aisled barn located 100 meters east of Netherhall Farmhouse, dating from the mid-14th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, featuring a roof that is partly covered with red pantiles and partly with corrugated iron. The barn is three bays long, with two additional bays added at the west end in the 16th century. There is a midstrey on the north side. Inside, the barn showcases a high-quality frame with jowled arcade posts, steeply cambered tie beams that are arch braced with exaggerated curvature, jowled aisle ties, and re-curved passing braces. The scarfs are splayed and bridled, with face keys, and the roof includes common collars without purlins.
