Description
This building, known as P.J. Carter, is a shop that dates back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-framed structure that is plastered and has ashlar panel pargetting. The roof is double gabled, covered with red plain tiles, and includes a gabled dormer on the left side. The gables are adorned with heavy scroll bargeboards. The building stands two storeys tall with attics and has a two-window range. The attic windows are three-light, small-paned, double-hung sashes, while the first-floor windows are larger, small-paned, double-hung sashes set in moulded surrounds. The shop front, added in the 20th century, has a central door and features a metal hood with a fringe from the 19th or 20th century, supported by iron fan brackets on a timber frame.
