Description
The King's Head is a public house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring flared headers and has a red plain tile roof with a truncated ridge, two flat head dormers, and a heavy wooden modillion cornice at the projecting eaves. The building has two storeys, an attic, and cellars. It features a five-window range of 18th-century small paned double hung sashes. There is a central carriageway with a segmental arch, flanked by small paned double hung sliding sashes with sidelights. A band runs along the lower windows and the carriageway. At the rear, there are two very large red brick chimney stacks, one on each side. A central moulded brick inscription reads "1697 T.P.S." and there is a wing extending to the rear.
