Description
Kismet Indian Restaurant is a building that dates back to the early 17th century or earlier. Originally known as The Market House, it features three open arches on the east side. By the late 19th century, it was converted into shops. The structure is timber framed and plastered, with ashlar panels. It has a half-hipped red plain tiled roof, which includes three hipped dormers with pivot casements. The first floor has three ranges of small paned, double hung sliding sash windows. The shop front is set back from the jetty and has three windows, each with seven lights, center transoms, and four pilasters. There is a half-glazed door adorned with Gothic panels and lights. Two red brick chimney stacks with moulded capping are symmetrically placed on the building. A Royal Insurance Plaque is located to the left of the entrance.
