Description

Gills Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 16th century and earlier, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame, with sections that are plastered and others that are weatherboarded, topped by a red plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and an L-shaped plan. The west front displays a range of three late 18th-century vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars. There is an 18th-century door that is topped by a simple flat canopy supported by large brackets, along with a moulded frieze and architraves. The farmhouse has red brick chimney stacks and lean-to extensions on the north side. It is situated on a moated site.
