Description

Hunters Hall Farmhouse is a 16th-century house, altered in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is timber-framed and rough cast, with a red-plain tile roof. The house has a distinctive "H" plan, incorporating gabled crosswings to the east and west, and a central gable facing south. The front has a 1-3-1 window arrangement, with 19th-century vertical sliding sash windows featuring glazing bars and moulded heads. Three central first-floor windows are adorned with pediments, while the two outer ground-floor windows have sidelights. A grey slate-roofed lean-to extension is located centrally at the front. A 19th-century gabled porch with a grey slate roof and iron railings is present at the rear. Original 16th-century red brick chimney stacks are visible; the central stack has been rendered. The house stands on a moated site.
