Description

The timber framed barn at Gulsons dates from the 17th century and features black weatherboards. It has one midstrey facing north and a roof that is ridged with fly-hips, which is now covered with felt. The posts are straight and do not have jowls, and the structure includes arch-braces, lapped collars, and side-purlins. The walls are supported by primary braces extending from the central stud of each bay. The barn has red brick footings, and the Great Doors are still intact.
