Description
Boxted House is a 1830 house that stands two storeys tall and is constructed of gault brick. It features three bays, a hipped and slated roof with lead bonnets, and two gault chimney stacks. The wide eaves are supported by paired modillions above a moulded string course. The first floor has a stone band and three pairs of sash windows with glazing bars in concealed boxes, set under segmental arches. The ground floor includes an Ionic portico with two round columns and two square responds, along with an entablature and two formerly folding door leaves. There are pairs of tall small-pane casements on either side, also under segmental arches. To the left, there is a one-storey glazed conservatory, and to the right, a one-storey addition with a flat roof and stone coping. Inside, the house features well-crafted moulded and coloured ceiling cornices and panelled reveal shutters.
