Description
This is an 18th-century cart lodge located to the west of Cart Lodge with a granary above at Pond House. The structure is six bays long and open to the east, featuring knees in three directions, which are well-formed with arcature and secured with screw-threaded nuts and bolts. The roof is currently covered in corrugated asbestos and has a hip end at the south. The walls are primarily braced, and the rafters are wind-braced with carved primary braces extending from the first to the second third of their length. The tie-beams have 'serpentine' dovetailed collars and side purlins. The footings are made of red brick, consisting of 12 courses in English bond.
