Description
Wagon Lodge with granary over, located to the north-west of Boxted Hall, dates from around 1700. This structure features a six-bay range that is timber framed and open on the north wall. The roof is ridged and gabled, covered in corrugated iron. It has binding-joists on the knees and a side-girt on the open wall, secured with screw-threaded bolts. The posts rest on soles, with stilts and brick infill. The first half-storey is clad in black weatherboards. The floor is constructed with deep section oak common joists, which are fitted with diminished-haunches. The roof has been reinforced with pine at a recent date.
