Description
The cartlodge with granary over, located east of Priory House, dates from around 1700. It features three bays and is constructed from timber framing with weatherboarding. The roof is ridged and gabled, covered with corrugated asbestos. Originally, the ground storey had three open bays on the north-east side. The frame is heavily kneed, with screw-threaded bolts in three directions and very good arcature to the knees. The binding-joists are notched into the posts, and the common-joists are deep sectioned with diminished-haunches. Each end wall contains two prick-posts, as well as in each bay on the first storey, which was previously used as a granary. The floor is made of red bricks laid on edge.
