Description
Barritt's Farmhouse is a 16th century or earlier house built in an H-plan layout. The walls are plastered, and it features roof ridges of uniform height, gables, peg-tiles, and eaves. There is a rebuilt concertina chimney stack located near the return of the west wing, and the entire structure is aligned east-west. A gabled porch is positioned in front of the main chimney, which has a modern front door. The gables are adorned with wavey vergeboards. The windows are a mix, including casements arranged in sets of two or three, with one pair of Gothic casements in the ground storey of the east wing, and three pointed lights. The west wing jetties out on the outside long wall, supported by Jacobean pierced and pendanted brackets. The rear elevation features Gothic windows.
