Description

Chaplins Farmhouse is a 16th century and earlier house that is timber-framed and plastered. The building has a complex plan with two parallel ranges running east-west and a north-south range that connects them. The roofs are covered with peg tiles and feature ridges and gables. The two gables on the east front each have three-part windows with leaded casements on the first storey and a set of four casements on the ground storey. The long range includes one large gabled dormer and four irregularly placed sets of leaded casements. There is a red brick chimney stack on the ridge of each cross wing.
