Description

Weir Farmhouse is a 16th-century or earlier house, originally built in an H-plan. The house is timber-framed, now partly plastered, with sections encased in brick and black weatherboarding. The roofs are ridged and gabled, covered in peg tiles. A central chimney stack, rendered, is located centrally, with another stack flanking the left wing. The left wing is jettied and black weatherboarded. The right (east) wing and hall front are encased in red brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The west wing has sliding sash windows on both the first and ground floors, with a door on the right side. The hall has a central front door consisting of six fielded panels, two casement windows on the right, and two sliding sash windows on the left. Two modern casement windows are located on the first storey. There are two sliding sash windows in the east gable. The rear elevations are black weatherboarded.
