Description
Ash House is a 16th century or earlier timber-framed and plastered house designed in a T-plan, featuring thatched roofs. The main section of the house runs along the street and is a single storey with attics, which include two gabled dormers fitted with modern casements. There is an intruded first floor supported by a tusked beam near the center of the building. The house has three red brick chimneys: one in the center and one at each end. The wing of the house also has two gabled dormers with modern casements and a semi-hexagonal bow window on the ground floor, which is adorned with sash windows in elaborate boxes that have finely dentilled cornices. Inside, there is a neo-classical fireplace and heavy timber framing. Additionally, there is a 19th century extension to the wing, which has a slate roof and is in line with the original structure.
