Description
This late 17th-century timber-framed building, located to the north-north-east of Boxted Hall, is five bays long and has an uncertain original use. The western side is now open, where it was originally studded. Two cross-walls once divided the interior space. The roof is ridged and gabled, covered in corrugated iron, while the walls are finished with black weatherboards. The roof features tenoned collars on every sixth couple and oaken purlins that are joggled, arranged in two tiers, with a very wide low tile tier. The top plates are joined using bladed scarfing.
