Description

Cart Lodge with granary over at Pond House is a 17th-century structure located on Boxted Church Road. It is timber framed and features black weatherboards, with a ridged, gabled roof covered in corrugated asbestos. The building was originally open to the yard on the west side and consists of five bays aligned from north to south. It has large hanging-knees under the binders, which are attached by forelock-bolts. The deep joists have haunches, and the posts are set on soles and stilts with brick infill.
