Description

Windy Ridge Farm Home is a house dating from around 1700, located on Great Horkesley Park Road. The building is timber framed and rendered, consisting of two parallel ranges that run roughly east to west, both of which are two storeys high. The northern range features a parapet. The roofs are covered with peg tiles, with a fly hipped design to the east and a hipped design to the west. There is a 19th-century addition at the north-west corner, which is two storeys and polygonally planned.

The north front of the original building has a projecting central bay and a central porch with railings. There are decorative bands at both the first and attic floor levels. On the first storey, there is a range of six pairs of six-pane sash windows, with five pairs of six-pane windows on the ground storey below. The 19th-century north elevation features a range of four pairs of six-pane sash windows on the first storey, with taller matching pairs of six-pane windows beneath. The building has two red brick chimney stacks on the earlier section and two more on the 19th-century addition.
