Description

Swan Cottage and Walden Cottage are two adjoining houses located on the north side of London Road in Stanway. They date from the late 15th century or early 16th century and are constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tile roof. The buildings feature gables, with a crosswing at the west end rising to two storeys, while the remainder is one storey with attics. The cottages have a 1:2 window range, with 19th-century casements, and include two gabled dormers. There is a modern porch and a bay window, as well as grey gault chimney stacks.
