Description
The Old Rectory is an 18th century building located on Cooks Hall Road in West Bergholt. It is constructed with gault bricks and features two storeys and three bays, with a painted brick extension to the north. The central front door on the ground floor is set in a wide case, flanked by Ionic columns, and is topped with a semi-circular fanlight and a mutulated pediment. On either side of the door, there are straight arched windows with hornless sash frames. The first storey has a matching range of three windows, and the building is topped with a parapet and a hipped peg-tiled roof at the ends. A wing extends to the rear, made of painted brick, forming an L-plan. There are red brick garden walls on both sides, featuring ball-capped piers at the ends.
