Description
Bures House is a 17th century timber-framed and plastered house with later additions, located on Lexdon Road in West Bergholt. The building has a long roughcast exterior, two storeys, and a ridge and gable roof covered with peg tiles. The central front door features six fielded panels and is flanked by two Ionic columns. Above the door is a semi-hexagonal bay with five-paned casements and a flat roof. On the first storey, there are two sash windows in exposed boxes, one on each side of the door. The ground storey has modern square bays on either side of the door, with dentil cornices. The left bay has a casement window, while the right bay has a pair of sliding sash windows. There are red brick chimneys on the left gable and another near the center of the house. In front of the property, there are iron railings.
