Description

Grove Cottages is an early 16th century house located on Nayland Road in Great Horkesley. It is timber framed and rendered, featuring two storeys and an E-plan layout with three gabled wings facing east. Each wing has modern casement windows, with three windows on each storey. The roofs are ridged, gabled, and covered with peg tiles. The building has three red brick chimney stacks. Inside, the ceiling joists have housed soffit shoulders, suggesting a construction date before 1510.
