Description

Baytrees House is likely a 15th-century house situated on Church Street, Great Horkesley. It follows an H-plan, characterized by exposed timber framing and jettied cross-wings. The north and south hall roof ridges lie lower than the crosswing ridges, incorporating two gabled dormers in the west roof slope. A central red brick chimney stack rises from the hall range, with another flanking the south wing. The ground storey features sets of three leaded casement windows, with a single window in each wing gable. An extension projects north of the hall range. A six-light diagonal mullioned window is located at the rear of the hall.
