Description

The Grove is a 16th-century house, with later features and possibly earlier timber framing. The south front is plastered and has two storeys, a parapet, and a complex peg-tiled roof with four lead-flashed hipped projections to the south. A long range extends north from the east return. Rusticated stucco quoins are at the east and west angles, with a moulded string at eaves level. A flat 19th-century porch with square columns is centrally placed, set within a range of tripartite wooden sash windows with heavy mullions and hoodmoulds. Four matching windows are on the first storey. Four red brick chimney stacks, one with three diagonal shafts, stand behind the south-east return of the roofs.
