Description

This is an early 19th century house situated on the Nayland Road in Great Horkesley. It is a three-bay, two-storey building constructed of gault brick with a Flemish bond. The roof is slate and hipped, with eaves detailing. Chimney stacks are present on the north and south walls, constructed from gault and red brick. A central porch features two round columns supporting a flat entablature and has a Victorian glazed front door. The front facade includes pairs of hornless six-pane sash windows to the left and right, and a semi-hexagonal bay window to the right with sash windows beneath a hipped, leaded roof. On the first storey, three pairs of hornless small-pane sash windows are set within stucco arches, each with a keystone. Pilastered returns are also present.
