Description

Old House Farmhouse is a house from the 18th and 19th centuries, with older origins. The east front is made of gault brick and features a blind set back bay on the south side, along with a range of seven sash windows on the first storey. These windows are pairs of hornless six-pane designs with voussoired straight heads and stone sills, located beneath a mutulated cornice and a stone-coped parapet. The central front door on the ground storey has six fielded panels within panelled reveals and is sheltered by an Ionic portico supported by two round wooden columns and two semi-circular pilasters. The entablature has concave sides and is dentilled. There is a gault chimney stack on the right, and the roof is hipped and covered with peg tiles, featuring leaded ridges. The building has an L-plan layout, and the joints in the Flemish bond walls are falsified. There are red brick walls enclosing the yard and a 19th-century summerhouse with a slate roof on the south side.
