Description
Nos 3 to 5 on West Stockwell Street are an important late 15th century half-timbered house featuring intricate carved details. The building has been restored and showcases two gables on the front. The upper storey projects outward, supported by a moulded bressumer and curved brackets that spring from shafts with demi-angel capitals. The timber-framing is visible on the front, with the two upper windows consisting of 8 and 6 lights, both adorned with traceried heads. The entrance doorway and the east passageway feature 4-centred heads, and there are additional original doorways within the 'screens' passage. The roofs are tiled. Nos 2 to 13 on the street form a group with this building.
