Description
No. 3 St Ann Street is a building dating from the 15th to 16th century. It is two storeys with an attic, featuring a timber frame with plaster infilling on the upper part and a painted brick ground floor. The building has a double central gable that is tile hung, topped with an old tile roof. Each gable has a small modern leaded casement window. On the first floor, there are two modern 3-light casements and a 3-light rectangular bay under the right-hand gable, all with lead casements. The ground floor to the right has a long 15th to 16th-century shop window, consisting of a double set of rectangular lights divided by heavy square framing, with the upper lights shuttered and a stable-type panelled door in the right-hand corner. To the left, there is an 18th-century door and sash window, although the wall has been altered with new brickwork. The building is currently undergoing restoration. Nos 1 and 3 form a group with Nos 2 to 18 (even).
