Wisemans

Wisemans, located at 270 London Road on the north side in Stanway, is a 16th-century house that features a timber frame clad in red brick. The building has two storeys and is topped with a red plain tile roof that is hipped at the east end. It has a three-window range with modern casements that include glazing bars. The entrance boasts an early 19th-century door surround with moulded architraves. The house retains an original central chimney stack, along with a west chimney stack that has diagonal shafts. The east end of the building is weatherboarded. There are extensions from the 17th, 19th, and 20th centuries at the rear.
