Description
The Old Malting is a 17th-century house, originally timber-framed and later reclad in 18th-century red brick. It has a red plain tile roof. The house is two storeys high, with a two-storey and attic extension and a single-storey extension at its east end. The roof is gambrel-shaped, with a modern dormer window on the east side. It has a seven-window front, featuring modern casement windows set within gauged brick arches. Red brick chimney stacks, dating to the 18th and 19th centuries, are also present. Inside, the original timber frame is visible, exhibiting substantial storey posts and tie beams, along with halved and bladed top plate scarfs.
