Description

This is an early 15th-century aisled barn situated to the east of the Church Hall in Broxsted. The barn is timber framed and clad in weatherboarding, with a red plain tile half-hipped roof. It is nine bays long and features arch bracing to the tie beams, supporting a crown post roof with down bracing to the tie beams, applied to alternate sides. Jowled main posts are braced to the tie beam. Scarfs are face halved and tabled, laterally keyed, with two face pegs and one bladed abuttment. Two midstreys are located on the west side.
