Description
The Church Hall is a late 16th century building that was originally a house. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tile roof. The structure has two storeys and attics. The south front features two jettied gables and a central two-storey gabled porch, all adorned with original chequerboard bargeboards and some remaining carved consoles. The north front facing the road has a similar gable, along with a gabled wing and a gabled staircase tower. The window arrangement consists of two:four:one:one, with modern casements. A central red brick chimney stack with four diagonal shafts is also present. Inside, most of the original frame is intact. The east end includes a gable to the north and a range at right angles, which contains an early 17th century brewhouse that is now part of the main house. This brewhouse features arch braced tie beams and an original chimney stack that has been partly rebuilt.
