Description

This is an early 14th-century barn situated to the north-east of Little Hallingbury Hall. It is timber framed with a half-hipped roof covered in thatch and grey slate. The walls are a combination of weatherboarding and brick cladding. The barn has five large bays and features jowled aisle posts with passing braces. The arcade plates have splayed scarfs, and the purlins and aisle posts are connected by arch braces. Soulaces are visible on the collars. Aisle walls were likely bricked in during the late 17th century.
