Description

The Old Bakehouse is a 16th century house located on Takeley Street. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a half hipped roof made of red plain tiles. The building has two storeys and features a three-window range with modern leaded casements. A 16th century red brick chimney stack is present. An L-shaped stable range from the 18th century now forms the east wing, also covered with a red plain tile roof. There is a small gable feature above the door and a loft door in the south gable. The east side of the building has modern windows.
