Description
Mitchell's Farmhouse is a 17th century timber-framed house with three bays, consisting of one storey and attics. It features a red brick chimney located in the central bay. The front wall is currently roughcast, although it was originally weatherboarded, similar to the rear wall. The house has two low-pitched slated dormers, each with pairs of wooden casements, and a central front door that is flanked by a Victorian porch. On either side of the porch are sets of three modern casements. The roof is ridged, gabled, and covered with peg tiles, with a lean-to extension along the rear that dates from the 18th century. Inside, there is a clamped first floor supported by longitudinal bridging-joists and diminished haunch tenons.
