Description

Highoe is a building located on Shop Lane in East Mersea, likely dating back to the 16th century, with some interior fragments from that period. The exterior is primarily from the 18th century. The structure consists of two bays and features sections made of modern brick, while the original parts are covered in black weather-boarding. The roof is thatched, with a ridged and gabled design, and includes two red brick chimney stacks, one situated at the north gable. The front door is centrally located within a wide case and is sheltered by a modern porch. On either side of the door are a pair of sliding sash windows, each containing six panes.
