Description

Plains Cottage is a probably 16th century timber-framed cottage located on Boxted Cage Lane. The cottage features plastered walls and a roof that is ridged, hipped, and gabletted, with thatching. It has two eyebrowed dormers, each fitted with casement windows. There is a red brick chimney stack on the right hip of the roof. Additionally, there is a range of three modern casements. Traces of guilloche plaster can be seen beneath the eaves.
