Description

Smuggler's Way is a late medieval house built in an H-plan design, featuring a timber frame and black weatherboards. The roof is ridge and gabled, covered with peg tiles. There are two red brick chimneys, with one located near the junction of the crosswing on the west side. The east wing has a plain modern door, and there is a gabled dormer in the south central part of the house. The windows are modern casements, with one in each wing gable and a range of three double casements on the ground floor. At the rear, there is a lean-to, with the east wing being longer than the west wing. Inside, the house has soffit-tenoned floor joists and evidence of a crown post roof in the west crosswing.
