Description
The Firs is a building dating from 1756, constructed of red brick in Flemish bond. It has two storeys and has been modernised. The front range features a central flat porch with pilasters, flanked by modern storey-height windows that have gauged straight arches. There is a first-floor band and a range of five windows on the first storey, all under straight rubbed arches. A date stone is located centrally beneath a heavy eaves cornice, which is made of stucco or stone. The roof has three hipped dormers, each with a pair of old casements, and the gables are coped with brick. The roof is ridged and covered with peg tiles, and there is an inset chimney stack at each gable end. At the rear, there are two-storey ranges that are both contemporary and later additions.
