Description

Nos 206 and 208, Springfield Road are houses dating from approximately 1700 or earlier. They form a double parallel range along the street fronting with grey brick. The houses are two storeys high with a six-window range of sash windows, each containing eight panes. The east end features a six-panel door set between plain Doric columns, which have a subtle swelling in the middle (entasis), and a wooden entablature with dentils and modillions. The ground floor mirrors the upper level with four matching windows. A second door is located further west. The roofs are ridged and gabled, covered with peg tiles. The end walls are rendered and likely timber-framed.
