Description

This is a mid-19th century building on Springfield Road, constructed from yellow stock brick with a stone plinth. It is three storeys high and has three bays. The front elevation features stone strings at the window impost and first floor levels, and bold eaves supported by paired modillions. The ground floor has three round-headed sash windows. The first floor has a three-window range with gauged flat brick arches above each window. The upper floor contains three square sash windows. The roof is hipped and covered in slate, topped with a flat summit and iron railings. Four chimney stacks are present. The interior retains good plaster ceilings and cornices. The windows have folding reveal shutters, and the doors and stairs are panelled, with a mahogany handrail and bracketed tread ends. A decorative iron grille is a feature of the staircase.
