Description

Walden Cottage, formerly known as Knight's Farmhouse, is a medieval timber-framed and plastered house originating from the 15th century. An attic storey was added to the hall block, likely in the 17th century. The house underwent renovation and restoration in 1955. It features a two-storey cross wing at the south end, while the main block consists of one storey with attics. The windows are small casements with 20th-century lattice leaded lights. The roof is tiled and includes two gabled dormers. The cross wing retains an original king post truss. Inside, the cottage showcases exposed timber-framing ceiling beams and joists.
