Description

No. 4 St John's Green is an 18th-century timber-framed and plastered house, featuring some weatherboarding. The building has been altered and extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. It stands two storeys tall with attics and has a three-window range of double-hung sashes that include vertical glazing bars. The ground storey features a 20th-century shop front at the south end and a 19th-century canted bay at the north end. There is a doorway adorned with a semi-circular fanlight that has ornamental glazing and is topped with an open dentilled pediment. The roof is tiled and half-hipped at the south end, with three hipped dormers. Nos. 4 and 5 together create a continuous frontage. All the listed buildings in St John's Green are part of a group.
