Description

This barn, located 40 metres east of Tilekiln Farmhouse, dates from around 1810. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a slate roof. The structure consists of 7 bays aligned northwest to southeast, featuring 2 midstreys on the southwest side. There are original lean-tos situated between and on each side of the midstreys. The barn showcases primary straight bracing and a side-purlin roof. The frame is of high quality and is virtually complete. Together with nearby buildings, this barn contributes to an exceptionally complete farm complex from the Napoleonic War period.
